Cambridge River Festival 2005 |

Art Up Front joined visual artists with businesses to create a ripple-effect of creative energy throughout the city of Cambridge. By matching regional artists to local businesses, Art Up Front transformed storefronts and commercial spaces into exciting visual experiences. Works included site-specific installations, paintings, prints, sculpture and other mediums in window spaces throughout the city. Art up front extended the Cambridge River Festival in both space and time--appearing in neighborhoods throughout Cambridge in the weeks leading to the riverfront festival on June 18, 2005. Building on the 2005 theme, artists created imaginative, playful, colorful, dramatic, humorous, profound, and symbolic renderings of the Ripple concept. Map of locations of storefront art (PDF)
