Something Special at the Cambridge River Festival

SplashDance
We rounded up boats of all shapes and sizes to perform SplashDance, a performance art event on the Charles River. Canoes, kayaks and more formed a chevron beneath the Lars Anderson Footbridge where the festival took place, then proceeded to the Weeks Footbridge before turning to face the Cambridge Shore. At 2pm, a drumming call-and-response between boats and on-shore drummers commenced and turned into an all-out drum jam open to everyone. People were encouraged to bring homemade percussion instruments to add their voice to the groovy beat.
